How To Access Your Full Social Security Earnings Record

First, Log Into Your mySSA Account

Before you can access your earnings statement, you’ll need to log in to your mySSA account.

How to Log In:

  1. Go to www.ssa.gov
  2. Click Sign In in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose one of the three sign-in methods available.
  4. Enter your credentials and complete the security verification process.
  5. After signing in, you will be redirected to the mySSA home page.

Once logged in, you can now proceed with one of the three methods to download your earnings record.

Note: To get your full earnings record, DO NOT USE the PDF option under the “Your Social Security Statement” section.

Option 1: Download Your Earnings as an XML File

If you need a structured digital version of your earnings record, downloading an XML file is the best option.

How to Download the XML File:

  1. On your mySSA home page, locate the Your Social Security Statement link near the top of the page.
  2. Click on Download Statement Data as XML file.
  3. The XML file will be saved in your Downloads folder on your computer.

Option 2: Copy & Paste Your Earnings History

If you prefer a quick and easy way to store your earnings data, you can copy and paste it into a document.

How to Copy & Paste Your Earnings:

  1. On the mySSA home page, scroll to the Eligibility and Earnings section.
  2. Click Review Your Full Earnings Record Now.
  3. Accept the disclosure agreement if prompted.
  4. On the Earnings Record page, highlight all rows and columns displaying your earnings history.
  5. Use Ctrl + C (Windows) or Command + C (Mac) to copy the highlighted data.
  6. Open a Word document or Excel file and paste the data using Ctrl + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac).

Option 3: Save Your Earnings Record as a PDF

If you need a printable and easy-to-read format, saving your earnings statement as a PDF is the best choice.

How to Save as a PDF:

  1. On the Earnings Record page, open the print menu by pressing Ctrl + P (Windows) or Command + P (Mac).
  2. In the Print window, change the destination to Save as PDF.
  3. Click Save, then choose a location on your computer to store the file.

To provide these to Gilbert Wealth, upload the documents to your secure RightCapital Vault.
