How to Save a Website to Your Phone Screen Like an App

These steps work best using Safari.

  1. Open the Safari app.
  2. Go to the website you want to save.
  3. Tap the Share button.
This is the square icon with an arrow pointing upward.
  4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. Edit the name if you want a shorter app-style label.
  6. Tap Add in the top-right corner.

The website icon will now appear on your iPhone or iPad home screen. You can tap it just like an app.

If you are using Chrome, Edge, or another browser on iPhone, the Add to Home Screen option may not appear the same way. Safari is usually the simplest and most reliable method.

These steps usually work best using Google Chrome.

  1. Open the Chrome app.
  2. Go to the website you want to save.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  4. Tap Add to Home screen.
  5. Edit the name if desired.
  6. Tap Add.
  7. Confirm by tapping Add again, or drag the icon to the location you want.

The website shortcut will now appear on your Android home screen.

If you use Samsung Internet instead of Chrome:

  1. Open the Samsung Internet app.
  2. Go to the website you want to save.
  3. Tap the menu icon, usually three horizontal lines.
  4. Tap Add page to.
  5. Select Home screen.
  6. Confirm by tapping Add.
